GRAND DISORDER

Concept Development & Project Direction for site-specific experiential installation at Shanghai's Lane & Crawford flagship store

A site-specific installation to reflect on the importance of being part of this metropolis and celebrate the beauty of coexisting visions of the city and the patterns that it creates when they are brought together. A multi-perspective gaze into the Shanghainese urbanscape and its dynamics with the interactive relationship with the audience.

The most difficult task for this megacity must be to maintain order. The numbers, the speed, the way the city develops make the mission almost impossible. One would not expect to find any kind of ordered pattern, but it's there.

Shanghai makes you feel a small part inside a grand mechanism. Most times, when you look at the bigger picture from specific perspectives, it all makes sense. The order is there, even calm, if that's possible.
